Portland Quilt Show And Family

The best part of being sent by your job to do a quilt show is that you get to see family. Jami and the girls came down and stayed the weekend with me.  They swam at the pool.  We shopped at the Lloyd center. Had clam chowder and fish and chips.  Then Sunday morning when I was off the clock, we did my favorite Portland thing...

We walked across the bridge and into the city.  Which of course included more  food at funky little restaurants, and we hit Saturday market.  We got in line at Voodoo for donuts.  The line went clear down and around the corner.  But Amelia was set on their crazy flavors.  We'd see someone walk out with cereal or cookies on a do-nut and our mouths would water. And so did the sky.  We were in the rain and the line was not moving at all.  We finally settled for an elephant ear and caught the shuttle back to our hotel just in time for them to catch  the train  and I caught my plane.  I love spending time with my family, I sure miss these guys. It's crazy to have this kind of global family and jobs.
