The floor in the cabin has had a rough 38 years of wear and tear.... The whole cabin has some rough miles on it. All fun times. Except for Jerry, he's always working at the cabin, and he came up with a new project. We changed the floor. He put in the laminate flooring from our family room. He worked hard. I wasn't much help, but I still tell him I am good company. The leaves were about gone but still a few. And everyone was surprised when they came the next weekend.

You Never Know...
You never know what to expect with the cabin! We left home with a bit of a sprinkle. When we got to the point of the mountain, all we could see ahead of us were dark clouds. I had checked the radar for weather and a storm was in the forcast but not until about 11 am. We had about an hour and a half to get there before the storm. We were in rain, pouring rain and dark clouds on the horizon the whole way.... at the cabin - SUN! Yeah! Prayers are heard. Jerry was sure we were going for nothing. I just kept praying.
But we got rain and lots of it, in the afternoon. Thunder, lightning, pouring rain, fun stuff at the cabin. We played games and took a nap.
We of course rode 4wheelers and rode 4 wheelers. We , well, some of us worked hard at the cabin. One of us took a break.... The paint is peeling off the cabin, so we used our favorite girl tools to get the job done... butter knives and pancake spatulas to peel the paint off, then we painted and drank diet cokes.
Our other project was a bit more male dominated, but we moved all the big cinderblock from the well house and the guys took it and filled the huge ravine in the road. It was so much work. They worked on the road until dark.
Next morning there was a note on the table that Conley and Payton had gone to work on the road... at the break of dawn! Before breakfast the rest of the guys had joined them.
Then there was a Mean Bunch of Rustlers that showed up! The Mullet Gang. Scarey looking bunch in black hats and dark glasses. Scared us all into thinking we were back in the 80's!!
Still had time to do our favorite things, lots of shooting, a little hunting, lots of good food.
Almost Heaven? Well, it was in really and truly in the clouds. Clouds all around the cabin next morning. A few colored leaves. Wow, it's pretty.

Still the most beautiful place to live.
I love the flowers. They grew with just a little bit of attention...the bare necessities and they bloomed for their life. Unlike a few trees in the yard who met their maker because they were looking a little peaked. Jerry wacked them down. He also trimmed all the branches up on the pine trees and they now look awesome too. We have no magpies any more, not so many quail and it looks like they all moved out of Michelle's attic. We saw a pair of Goshawks several times. We are thinking they may have something to do with the birds we are seeing.... more blue jays. The front porch is our favorite place to sit.
Our FREAKISHLY strong daughter!
Way to go Kalee! She was on a crossfit team for competition in Layton. We went to see if she was really doing step aerobics. NOT! I don't know how she did all of this in one day. Then she ended with her personal best for lifting. She is so strong! She works hard at it, she's very dedicated or should I say addicted. She sure can throw those weights around. Good job, we're proud of you.
Happily Ever After!
The key to happiness... for me it was to marry Jerry! It's now
40 YEARS
I love him more than words can say. He has been so good to me. MY happiness is his every thought and concern. He does everything for me. He always has a great attitude and looks at everything with the glass half full. He is so wise and encouraging and supportive and lifts me higher than you can imagine. He's fun to be with. He's my best friend. We've been so happy. There have been some hard things we've gone through together, but more happy memories than I can list.
We said we wanted to do an incredible trip for our 40th anniversary. We are counting Australia since is was this year. We've pretty much used it for an excuse for a lot of fun things we've done... including going to Taggart's Grill up Weber Canyon. We made a day of it and took the road over East Canyon... a few leaves have started to turn. We waited for a table outside and then we both ordered Prime Rib... after all it's been 40 years.
He is the love of my life! What a sport. I told him to sit on the rocks while I set the timer on the camera... he wasn't really posing for this. He's so handsome!
